Non-dualism or Advaita is one of the oldest Indian Philosophy. It is known to have its origin in the eight century and teachings were then given by Sri Shanaracharya; however Advaita philosophy has been followed since the end of Vedic age.

Non duality is an experience which tells us that there is no separation between the subject and the object. Advaita or non-dualism is not an actual religion but a belief. Being simple, you are connected to the world, as it is god that has created every being in the world; this ensures that everyone is connected to one another through on one creator. Non-duality can be considered as the realisation of our consciousness; it lets us face our true nature, which depicts the revelation of happiness, love and beauty in oneself.

The first Vedanta is the Dvaita otherwise known as Dualistic school, which tells that there are two different or separate realities, the God and the Universe. Universe is the creation of the God, which also include the humans present in the world. Also it tells us that the humans exist below God, making it a lower level of existence. Vishista-Dvaita is the philosophy that depicts qualified monism; here too it says that God is the creator of the universe and everything that exist in the universe however everything that we know was created out of God itself. This simply means that everything has come from one divine origin and thus is a part of God, thought they exist separately.

Lastly it is the Advaita Vedanta, the strongest of all the schools; it simply depicts non-dualism or monism. It shows that everything that we know has only one reality and nothing is separate at all. It does not deny the existence of the universe; however the reality is only relatively real or can be called as ambiguous.

Enlightenment is the realisation of what non-duality is and what it has always been; also it is also going to be an everlasting reality of our life experience. Following differences is an illusion, your conscious is not private or personal but it is influenced by universe and eternal. Subsequent stabilization of peace, happiness and freedom, does come to you when you have the self-realisation of your natural state.

Even the time and space that we talk about is connected to matter and energy, it is also known that time-space has only relative reality. So, there is something which is the absolute reality of all the happenings in the world that has to be beyond the time-space. This absolute phenomenon is the only reality in the world.

When you consider the Advaita Vedanta philosophy, there is no reality for the creation or divine intervention. The only known reality is the principle of oneness and from it comes the reality of the world and it might not exist without it. The world is the result of the contraction and expansion of the universe and this is a natural cycle that cannot be controlled nor worked at will.

Being precise, the essence of non-duality is the experience in nature; it may be from music or kind of art, either through work or any hobby, even walking or by having any social interaction. Once you are aware of what non-dualism actually is, you start getting more curious to know more about it. In this pursuit you might get a more meaningful and have the realisation of the real you.
