Deciding what to wear for what setting can be quite a task since dressing inappropriately can cost one a lot. In order to create a good impression, one should always know what is and is not allowed for the different events one is bound to attend. There is usually a clear distinction between womens upscale clothing and what should be worn to work.

First, clothing that is universally known to be casual such as jeans, T shirts are not to be worn when attending an official event or when going to an office except when clearly stated otherwise. Even then one needs to remember to always have them neat and well paired to avoid looking careless. Well fitting pants or a skirt, a blouse or camisole of a neutral color paired with a blazer could work well, a scarf can also be used to complement the style.

Skirts, should not be too high above the knee or too long. Dresses of a length just above or below the knee can also be worn paired with a blazer or for smart casual, with a nice jacket. Heels worn should not be too high.

For a casual setting, almost anything is allowed. Casual events like parties although also do have some unsaid rules except when going out with friends. For example, in an office party, clothes that are too revealing should be avoided. One should endeavor to maintain a good impression even when not in the office.

When in a casual setting, what one wears is rarely dictated by any rules and is just mainly chosen based on what one prefers or is comfortable in. Such occasions are an opportunity to showcase what fashion trends and styles are current and are not limited to a certain standard. One has to always remember to get neat and is allowed experiment on what they think would suit them.

Unlike in office parties or casual settings, accessories to the office need to get subtle. Also, too much make up is ill advised, it would draw too much attention. Clothes with screaming colors and funny texts is obviously to be avoided. But with upscale dressing, depending on what one prefers, any color with any printings on it is not disallowed. Figure hugging clothes should be avoided for professionalism to be maintained while loose clothes should also not be worn.

In an official setting, one should be mostly subtle with what they decide to wear and if new to the organization. Someone should first dress officially before learning what others wear to work. It is more common for organizations to expect one to dress officially. By dressing like that you will be in a better state of creating a good perception in the market.

Lastly, one has always try dress right according to the occasion. Regardless of whether one is required to wear official, casual or smart casual, neatness is key. Official and casual outfits are different in many regards, official dressing need to be subtle while casual outfits can be anything especially not subtle. Most offices do have stated rules on how one needs to dress and if not, one should bet on official and learn from there. It is what most work environment would require. Smart casual is also becoming more and more the trend in offices.
